album cover drafts and final-mrs fisher

Album Covers
Draft 1

Here is the original image I worked on to make my album cover from the photo shoot. The first step into making the album cover was to crop the photo and get a closer view of the artists face. This is show in picture 2.

Picture 2 shows the result of cropping the photo into a close up, concentrating on keeping the artist on the left for the title and artist name to be placed on the right.

The next step was to add text. In picture 3 you can see the font being chosen. The chosen font is ‘Vivaldi’ and gives an elegant look to the name ‘Shani’. I kept a simple, silver like colour to maintain this elegant look.

The final step to making this draft was to adjust the colour placement and contrast. This can be found by going to the image tab, the adjustments, then black and white. By adjusting the levels of colour and contrast, I came up with picture 4.

Final Draft

To achieve the final draft, I expanded on draft 1 by adding a shadow under the artist’s name ‘Shani’. I also made the font colour a little little to avoid a grey looking text.
The next step was to add the title of the song, I did this in the same way as the word ‘Shani’, however I chose a different and smaller font, caramond, placed it in the lower right hand corner and made no change to it. Although it is small, the simple effect makes it stand out thus allowing the audience to recognise it.
With a simple save, the final album cover draft was complete and can be seen in the preview below labelled ‘Final Design’.

Ozgen's Cover

Above is Ozgen's design idea for an album cover for our artist. I thought that it helped represent the artist the best due to the images portraying the type of artist she is and the use of colour that will allow consumers of any age and gender to be attracted to buy this good. Also this album cover portrays how the artist should be seen, the front cover artwork piece is displaying an image on the left hand side which portrays innocence, a sweet young fresh artist and a happy idol for all age groups. From keeping in with the generic conventions of an album cover at the top right hand side i placed the artists name and the title of the song, with a plain and simple font , with a baby pink colour outline, helped make the front of the cover more eye catching and attractive to our target audience.

Christina's Cover

Above is Christina's cover idea for Shani's album. As a group we sat down and disscussed our design ideas to come to the conclusion of whose cover represwents Shani best, and Christina's idea was the chosen one. We chose this as our final cover as it clearly portrays Shani as an artist and what she believes in. the fad effect and colour contrast was what caught our eye most and this is one of the main reasons why we as a group believe this is the most successful album cover.
